The Lamb of God

"Worthy is the Lamb who was slain..."

It was a bright & early Saturday morning at Lake Gregory. We reflected on the Lord's faithfulness and generousity with His mercies (which are renewed every morning). We purposed in our hearts to bring Him an offering of thanksgiving and prayed that our painting would touch the hearts of all in attendance at the Rubber Duck Derby event.

The people started rolling in and the kids were anxiously waiting to get the egg hunt started, not to mention, the releasing of rubber ducks down the waterslide into the lake. After we helped set up our church's booth, we  set up the boards in the open area near the entrance and began painting.

People stopped by and asked what we were painting, what the colors represented, who we were, and so forth. This inquiry allowed for us to open up about the real meaning of Easter and who the Lamb of God was that died for us. A lot of the youth were in awe by the method we used to create our art; but, as as our head pastor always quotes, "the message is always the same (sacred)."

We were overjoyed that many liked and appreciated our artwork, this was our gift to God and for them to enjoy. This is our reason for creating art: fulfilling God's purpose. Our blessing comes with the privilege of contentment.

These 8'x12' art panels are now a permanent part of the Selah Christian Fellowship congregation. It is truly an honor to bless this church with this symbolic reminder of the price God paid for love.

..to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” - Revelation 5:12

Video: "Dio de los Vivos"

Repent and believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This life-giving message was told to Apollos in the Book of Acts (18:24-28); it's not enough to simply stop sin and repent, but to believe in Jesus. Jesus brings complete wholeness not just to the message of God's saving grace, but to our souls as well. He resurrects life in our state of spiritual death and gives us the power to break free from the sins that aim to keep us there.

A few months ago in early November, we had attended the "Dia de los Vivos" (Day of the Living) event in Los Angeles hosted by Praise Chapel. Some of our ISI crew members and a few of our friends were invited to paint and the rest of us went to support. This multi-faceted urban event was a gathering to celebrate the life God gives to those that are spiritually dead, rather than celebrate the popular pre-dominantly Hispanic tradition of "Dia de Los Muertos" (Day of the Dead). A great turn-out it was! Our prayer is that God touched the hearts of many on this night.

As we stood in support next to our brothers, mingling with others, and meeting new people, and impromptu opportunity arose for us to paint. An empty gap along the wall presented itself half-way through the event's timed slot and the event host, Zender, offered us the space. We gladly accepted and we thanked God; not just for the open door to use our talents, but for having enough stock paint in our possession! For such a time as this, right?

We huddled together and reasoned about that to paint, what theme do we want to share, which topic do we want to touch upon, and so on. We all agreed to "speak" to the un-saved in attendance and chose "Repent & Believe in the Gospel," a message weaved throughout the New Testament. And what a better time to tie in this life-giving message on such a night that emphasizes death?

"Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near." - Matthew 3:2 (NLT)

Video: "Fig Leaf Apparel"

Christianity, an active and living organism through the believers. Helping a brother out and partaking in teamwork can help move a Kingdom cause further than thought possible - the Holy Spirit works through those willing to be used for His good. The first part of Romans 12:13 (NLT) writes, "When God's people are in need, be ready to help them..." so when an invitation to paint for a promotional video for the clothing line of our Brother-in-the-Faith, we were eager to join the plan.

ISI and Fig Leaf Apparel met in the city of Pomona (at a permission wall) with videographer Stone Alvaro of Gal2:21 Productions to film the crew paint the Christian-based clothing line's logo design. Each of the crew members proudly rocked fresh Fig Leaf T's and head gear that speak volumes of their faith as they sprayed away.

Fre of Sin, Jobe and Wes77 started their collaboration with a prayer and finished with fellowship; may the Lord move through their deeds as He wills. Soli Deo Gloria.

The Hope Chapel "I Am Making Everything New" Production

It all began one late-summer 2012 day in which two of our ISI members saw an article about the newest addition to Hope Chapel South Bay in Hermosa Beach, CA. It was the "SkateHope" skatepark in the Youth Center that was bringing in the youngsters to spend their time in an indoor, Godly atmosphere. The pictures showed vert ramps, half-pipes, quarter-pipes, rails, fun-boxes, and much more; yet their walls were pretty spacious and almost entirely blank. Immediately an idea came to mind, a vision, and a desire to bless their walls with an awesome God-centered mural for the youth to reflect on while they spend their time in the Youth Center and skatepark. We got in contact with the youth pastor at Hope and (thank God!) it led to communication that followed throughout the next several months to arrange the proper timing to paint.

This year's end was the time to bring the mural to be! Talking and exchanging ideas with the pastors led to our main focus being on Jesus and His saving grace. The scripture we chose and based our mural theme upon was Revelation 21:5, "I am making everything new." We rallied up the troops and got to work on planning and laying out of the production process. The final product features a stark contrast between a dark and shot down "before" to a lively and renewed "after" - with a character figure in the middle of Jesus sitting on a throne; He, being the Bridge to hope and life.

Painted all in one day, really made all the hard work for our gracious Lord and the youth of Hope Chapel & surrounding communities WORTH it all.

Should you wish to drop in, please visit the SkateHope.com website for more information. Many thanks and heartfelt gratitude goes out to the staff at Hope Chapel - Pastor Kenny, Geoff, and the list goes on and on, God bless you.

P.S. - we have a time-lapse video of the mural production progress in the works, so stay tuned!
